In December 2024, I had reached a point where the Flex Mount was almost ready to live. I had extensively tested my coatings and adhesives, prepared the product page, and developed the fixtures and laser profiles necessary to quickly fulfill custom orders. However, the final lingering issue was packaging.
As the name implies, Flex Mount is designed to bend, allowing for adhesion to curved surfaces such as a vehicle’s dashboard. However, it is crucial that any bending is done deliberately by the user, as the inelasticity of stainless steel means that once it is bent past a certain point there is no going back. I needed rigid packaging to protect this product during shipping, however the off the shelf solutions I found were either too bulky, too expensive, or required far too much wasteful plastic.
